This course provides hands-on training in laboratory techniques widely used in biochemistry and molecular biology: DNA electrophoresis, restriction digestion and ligation, bacterial transformation, DNA extraction, and purification, PCR, DNA recombination, expression, sequencing, and others.

Course Learning Outcomes

This course is designed to help you learn foundational laboratory techniques used to study and manipulate nucleic acids, primarily DNA. This is a hands-on laboratory course through which you will acquire personal experience in DNA electrophoresis, restriction digestion and ligation, bacterial transformation, DNA extraction, and purification, PCR, DNA recombination, expression, sequencing, and others.
