Course Outcomes
- Demonstrate lecture comprehension and note-taking strategies such as: deciding what information is important; predicting content; using language cues; organizing information in notes; participating in class discussion; experimenting with different note-taking styles.
- Increase understanding of academic vocabulary
- Become more metacognitively aware of the listening process. “Metacognitively aware” means you will practice thinking about how you listen and the strategies you use to improve your listening comprehension.
- Apply the strategies you learn to improve your listening in other classes you are taking this semester.
