Course Learning Outcomes
- Demonstrate proficiency in fundamental nucleic acid laboratory techniques by performing DNA design, amplification, digestion, ligation, transformation, purification, and sequencing using established biomolecular methods.
- Apply appropriate laboratory instrumentation and safety practices to study and manipulate nucleic acids, including the use of autoclaves, thermocyclers, electrophoresis systems, incubators, imaging systems, and DNA sequencing and analysis software.
- Analyze experimental data derived from nucleic acid techniques, including gel electrophoresis, clone screening, and DNA sequencing, to evaluate experimental success and data quality.
- Communicate biomolecular experimental results clearly and professionally through accurate laboratory notebook records and formal written lab reports that present data, figures, and conclusions according to scientific conventions.
