A course designed to teach people how to take control of their personal health habits by practicing positive lifestyle activities that will decrease the risk of illness and help achieve total well-being.

Course Outcomes

Upon completion of this course, students will be able to:

  • Understand how to assess personal physical fitness, create a personal exercise program and perform and evaluate personal fitness activities. (Related assessment: Pre and post fitness test, quizzes, fitness journal)
  • Understand healthy nutrition choices, weight management skills, stress management skills. (Related assessments: quizzes, fitness journal, behavior assessment/ analysis)
  • Understand and incorporate a healthy lifestyle approach and relevant fitness and wellness issues. (Related assessments: quizzes, oral presentation, group discussion)
