(PSYC 306) Quantitative Research Methods

This course is designed to provide the student with the skills necessary to become thoughtful consumers of research. The course will teach the conceptual basis of the research process, basic principles of research design, core methods of data collection and be aware of ethical issues in the conduct of research.

1. Gain an understanding of the scientific method and the weaknesses, strengths and utility thereof.
2. Critically examine research produced by other scientists.
3. Discover your own personal research questions and strategies to answer these questions.
4. Understand how statistical analysis relates to research design.
