Sports Nutrition is a course which emphasizes the physiological and biochemical effects of nutrition on athletes during training and competition for various sports activities.

Course Outcomes

Upon completing this course, students will be able to:

  • Demonstrate understanding and competency of nutrition information at a certification level and answers from the ISSN-SNS Study Guide Questions.
  • Demonstrate an understanding of the role of nutrition in acute and chronic responses to exercise to accurately advocate nutritional strategies for peak performance for athletes and active people.
  • Understand the importance of good nutrition to obtain good health and the promotion of disease prevention strategies for specific populations as they relate to sports nutrition.
