Program Learning Outcomes
Upon completing a minor in theatre, students will:
- Analyze the uses of theatre in specific cultural contexts.
- Assessed through written assignments in required course THEA 115
- Assessed through cultural context presentations in other theatre courses
- ILO: Have knowledge of both breadth of general knowledge and discipline-specific knowledge AND Have ability to inquire, analyze, and communicate.
- Model Christ-like leadership in theatre collaborations.
- Assessed in most theatre classes through written peer-to-peer feedback, including Likert-scale items that measure the extent to which the peer demonstrated characteristics such as respect, empathy, compassion, cultural humility, inclusivity, and positivity.
- ILO: Have a disposition to act with integrity, stewardship, and service.
- Assessed in most theatre classes through written peer-to-peer feedback, including Likert-scale items that measure the extent to which the peer demonstrated characteristics such as respect, empathy, compassion, cultural humility, inclusivity, and positivity.
- Demonstrate disciplines, resilient, and risk-taking artistry in service to others.
- Assessed in most theatre classes (including productions) through measurement of punctuality, attendance, on-time memorization.
- Assessed in percentage of theatre minors who take a non-required acting or rehearsal and performance class demonstrating willingness to take risks that get them out of their comfort zone (remembering that all of the theatre minors are majoring in processional studies or math/sciences fields).

- Lead the design and production of performances that achieve clear goals.
- Assessed in final project of Playwriting course where students write, direct, and produce the performance of a scene and monologue
- Assessed in other THEA courses (e.g. Directing, Internship) where students lead the production of performances
