(ELED 343) PE and Health Methods for Elementary Teachers
This course is designed to prepare elementary teachers to understand and apply different methods of teaching physical education, health, and rhythmic movement/dance to children in their classrooms related to Hawai'i State Curriculum Standards. In this interdisciplinary course, a variety of skills and fundamentals applicable to all elementary school levels will be covered.

Course Learning Outcomes
Upon completion of this course, students will be able to:
- Demonstrates the ability to apply national and state standards of health and physical education in an elementary setting.
- Use effective and appropriate methods in teaching health and physical education in an elementary setting.
- Demonstrate the ability to create meaningful and age-appropriate lessons in health and physical education.
- Apply effective management strategies in health and physical education.
- Create performance tasks to assess student performance in health and physical education.
- Implement games and activities, manage the use of equipment and props, maintaining the level of excitement.
- Implement dance and music into physical education lessons, using technology to enhance physical education lessons.
- Advocate for health and physical education, doing more with less.
