Students examine the teaching of elementary science from a theoretical and practical background including the use of state guidelines. Emphasis is placed on the discovery approach using hands-on experiences.

Course Learning Outcomes
Upon completion of this course, students will be able to:
- Demonstrate competency in basic principles and knowledge of elementary science education.
- Demonstrate positive professional dispositions in teaching science.
- Plan, teach and manage effective inquiry-based science lessons according to standards in order to meet individual needs in a K-6 classroom.
