(REL 471) Fundamentals of Gospel Teaching

A course designed for returned missionaries and junior or senior students to help them understand and practice the principles and teaching techniques that they will need for future gospel teaching responsibilities in the Church, including Sunday classes, seminary, institute, and other leadership responsibilities. Students who participate in this course have the opportunity to apply what they learn by teaching at least twice during the semester in an actual early morning seminary class.

Course Learning Outcomes


Upon completion of the course, the student will:

  1. Have knowledge about and understanding of the principles and teaching techniques that they will need for future gospel teaching responsibilities in the Church, including Sunday classes, seminary, institute, and other leadership responsibilities.
  2. Have practiced the principles and teaching techniques that they will need for future gospel teaching responsibilities in the Church, including Sunday classes, seminary, institute, and other leadership responsibilities.
  3. Be more deeply converted to the Lord Jesus Christ (this outcome not evaluated on an individual basis).
