(MATH 205) Mathematics for Elementary Teachers

The course is designed to teach a perspective elementary teacher the understanding of mathematics needed to teach in grades K-6. The focus will be on mathematics not on methods since all pre-service elementary teachers will take a separate methods course as part of their program. Although learning the appropriate mathematics is the primary objective, it is hoped that some of the instructional techniques used in the class model the desired methods for teaching elementary mathematics.
