(PAIS 220) Pacific Social Development
This course introduces students to the social issues impacting the Pacific diaspora in New Zealand, Australia, and the United States of America. Despite the difference in location and migration, the Pacific diaspora are experiencing similar social issues. This course examines the various cultural factors that have contributed to the social issues impacting the Pacific diaspora globally.

Course Learning Outcomes
Upon completing this course, students will be able to:
- Identify and understand social issues impacting the Pacific diaspora globally
- Evaluate the diverse contributions (cultural, political, economic, religious, social) that have caused various social issues impacting the Pacific diaspora globally
- Discuss the cultural values and belief systems that have contributed to and normalized social issues within Pacific communities.
