Course Learning Outcomes

Upon completion of this course, students will be able to:

  1. Develop the knowledge and skills needed to teach writing in the K-6 classroom.
  2. Reflect upon and deepen their philosophy of effective classroom writing instruction.
  3. Understand the writing process and demonstrate this knowledge through planning and conducting model mini-lessons.
  4. Actively participate in writing workshops and share personal writing with their classmates.
  5. Create and organize an annotated bibliography of mentor texts for their future classrooms.
  6. Demonstrate effective pedagogy in a classroom writing instruction paper.
