(BIOL 340) Biostatistics

A course which explains how to determine the objectives of an experiment and how to select process factors for the selected study and how to choose the appropriate statistical test.

Course Learning Outcomes

  1. Students will understand the scientific method and the place in it for good study design and appropriate statistical analysis.
  2. Students will understand how statistical analysis is largely determined by research design.
  3. Students will be able to match appropriate analytical tools to biological questions.
  4. Students will be competent user’s of the R environment for analysis of biological data.
  5. Students will possess improved critical thinking, professional writing, and communication skills.
